NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), in partnership with Assam State Space Application Centre (ASSAC), successfully demonstrated the high-throughput capability of its GSAT-N2 communication satellite to senior Government officials of Assam through a live network test, achieving ~80 Mbps downlink and ~10 Mbps uplink using a compact 76 cm user terminal, underscoring GSAT-N2’s powerful performance for real-time connectivity.
With Ka-band capacity including 28.8 GHz and an aggregate throughput of ~48 Gbps, GSAT-N2 is positioned as a next-generation satellite platform to deliver high-speed broadband, enterprise and government connectivity, in-flight connectivity, tele-education, tele-medicine, disaster-response communications and secure VSAT services across India, especially in remote and difficult terrains, reinforcing GSAT-N2 as a key enabler of India’s digital inclusion and satellite-driven growth. NSIL thanks its collaborators NELCO, Gilat India and Sumeru Microwave for their unwavering support in conducting this PoC demonstration successfully.
